ATR ATR ATR ATR 2025 Summary ATR ATR ATR ATR
In its second year, the Association of Tennis Recreationals (ATR) continued to grow both on and off the court, strengthening its community impact and expanding its reach. ATR has now organized 30 singles and doubles tournaments for recreational tennis players of different levels, including the tournaments ATR founders hosted during two years before ATR formally incorporated. Besides our annual tournaments, we added a summer ladder tournament to our service lines in 2025 and achieved great popularity, strengthening ATR network across Maryland, Virginia, and the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. To keep up with this growth, we opened a new Virginia branch and set up a regional office in Howard County, Maryland. Our management team expanded from 3 high school officers to 10 high school and middles school officers.
Additionally, ATR developed a standardized tennis skill evaluation system, including skill tests and ATR ranking scores, to enhance player development. Beyond the court, we've boosted our online presence—sharing highlights on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, and upgrading our official website to serve our growing tennis community even better.
ATR have cumulatively engaged more than 700 players participating in various activities, with 200 new participants joining this year alone. Our volunteers collectively dedicated 260 social service hours to weekly free hitting sessions, helping beginner players build skills and confidence. In 2025, ATR raised $1,000 for the Children's Inn at NIH to support life-saving treatments.
Our Mission
The Association of Tennis Recreationals (ATR) is dedicated to providing competitive tennis opportunities for players of all skill levels while supporting charitable causes in our community.
We aim to foster a vibrant and inclusive community of tennis enthusiasts, promote sportsmanship and fair play, and give back through our partnership with the Children's Inn at NIH.
Our History
Started from 2022, ATR has grown from a small group of tennis enthusiasts to a thriving community of tennis players. We organize seasonal ladders, tournaments, and charity events throughout the year.
What began as casual weekend matches among friends has evolved into a structured organization that hosts tournaments and maintains year-round ladder competitions.
Throughout our growth, we've maintained our commitment to both competitive tennis and charitable giving, having raised fund for the Children's Inn at NIH, Baltimore Key Bridge collapse victims, Flatfoot sufferers, etc.
